This is a sweet dish made from flour and dusted with powder sugar. Chirote is traditional Karnataka sweet that is prepared on special occasions and religious festivals. It is also very popular dessert in traditional Maharashtra cuisine and is called Chirote.
Ingredient:
- Maida : 2 cup
- Ghee : 2 tbsp
- Salt : Only for taste
- Rose Pink Color : Few drops
- Sugar Powder : 1 tbs
- Rice flour paste: 1 tbsp
- oil or ghee: for frying
How to make Chirote :
- In a Maida add the ghee, salt and mix well.
- Take out 1/3 rd portion of it separately and add few drops of rose pink color to it.
- Take 3 portions of the kneaded dough. 1 in pink and the rest in white color.
- Roll out the 3 kneaded dough. Brush the rotis with warm ghee and then spread the rice flour paste over it.
- While doing this, Place the white roti at the bottom, then pink and then white.
- Then roll the same gently using hands. Cut into small parts.
- Then lightly roll all of them. Then fry the same on a medium flame.
- Sprinkle the powder sugar or sugar syrup over the chirote.
- The delicious and sweet, crunchy chirote are ready to be served.
- Store in an airtight container and they stay fresh for at least one week.
